At JBC’s Elite Martial Arts, we teach an eclectic blend of traditional karate and modern self defense systems. Our traditional base style is Shotokan Karate, a Japanese style created by Master Gichin Funakoshi. We also provide exposure to additional styles from Japan and Korea. Integrated into our system is Kobudo meaning “Old martial way of okinawa” but generally refers to okinawan weapons training. This is included at NO EXTRA CHARGE. Some schools charge for “weapons classes”, but we include this into the core curriculum. We also teach modern weapons (such as the retractable baton) into our core curriculum. Students will be exposed to both modern fighting styles and the ancient styles they are modelled from to make them a well rounded martial artist.
